First pull the 
Hood and support it to remove the 
Hood Latch, if you want to remove it. For the models starting from 1996, unscrew the large transparent plastic panel over the area of the latch using the screws with the plastic heads. Position a mark around the frame of the hood latch, so that at some point in the future the hood can be installed accurately. Next, you need to unscrew the bolts whichhold the latch and having done that, the latch can be removed along with the cable bushing and the cable eye can be lifted off the anchor post. Take out the cable clips at the radiator support bracket and apron; unlatch the screws that join the hood release handle to the instrument panel. Also, remove the tie wrap that holds the cable in place at the back side of the steering column bracket. Inside the passenger compartment, take off the cable grommet from the firewall and the cable should be pulled out. To install it, reverse the procedure or removal A few things need to be noted while installing the cable through the grommet on the firewall; also ensure that this grommet is well seated. Before closing the hood, move the control cable forward to back to check the proper working of latch control.
