Current supplies of the oil pump come only as an overhaul kit and hence no service elements of the pump nor any recommended repair procedures are available in the names of the manufacturer. To remove the oil pump the vehicle must be raised and secured on jackstands, also, the engine oil must be removed. Raise the
Oil Pan slightly and unbolt it but do not remove it; undo the two bolts which connect the oil pump pick-up tube to the oil pump. However, before you do this pull off the
Timing Chain cover, timing chains, chain guides, and crankshaft timing chain sprockets. Then, unscrew the four oil pump screws and pull the pump off the engine head or block as it may be. During installation, check at the pick-up tube O-ring gasket and replace it if it is worn out. Insert the oil pump into the engine and fasten the bolts as tightly as possible following the recommended torque setting; for priming the oil-pump, pour clean oil into the pick-up port and rotate the pump manually. At last, retract the installation sequence in order, add the right types and measures of oil in the engine, start the engine; search for leaks.
