How to remove and install the accelerator cable on Ford Ranger?

Remove accelerator linkage shield, disconnect cable from throttle lever ball stud, detach cable from intake manifold bracket (location may vary on later models), remove cable end from accelerator pedal, release retaining clips at dash panel and push cable through into engine compartment. Installation is reverse of removal, ensuring no wiring or hoses touch moving parts. Test throttle for smooth operation and engine returning to idle when foot is removed.
