  • Q: How to remove and install the rear Sway Bar Kit on a 1998 Ford Ranger?
    A: In order to uninstall the rear, remove the nut and washer that hold the rear Sway Bar Kit ends to the link on either end and then disengage the retainers from the rear axle housing. Successively, take off mounting brackets and retainer, as well as the Sway Bar Kit from the vehicle; examine the rubber isolators fitted on the Sway Bar Kit and change them if worn out. To install, align the Sway Bar Kit onto the rear axle assembly where a retainer is provided with UP mark facing upwards. Put in the Sway Bar Kit and the retainer onto the mounting brackets ensuring that the UP mark faces the truck bed. Go ahead and fit the U-bolts and nuts and turn them until they are just finger tight. Position the new Sway Bar Kit ends in the appropriate location and attach them to the links interfering the bolt, washer and nut in each end of the bar and tightening it to the required torque. Last, make the retainer bolts and link nuts tight up to the set torque.
