Mercury E6SZ-9A758-A Throttle Control Cable Assembly

Separate the pieces that carry air from both the throttle body and intake manifold. Separate the Throttle Cable from its base on the throttle lever by peeling off the last piece of the attachment. Unplugging the cruise control cable from its attachment on the cable bracket is simple: Just take out its bolt and split it. Pull the cable end out of the acceleration pedal hole in the driver's seating area by taking the cable away from its bracket. Unclip the Throttle Cable attaching points located on the intake manifold and valve cover, and pull the whole cable down through the firewall from your engine. You simply follow the steps for removal in reverse to put the cable back correctly. Leakproof your firewall passage by applying sealant where the cable enters from the engine bay onto the passenger cabin side. Freeplay your foot on the accelerator pedal and check it's 3/64 to 1/8-inch. To make it right, unscrew the locknut on the cable bracket and pull the pedal until it's in range.
