One method involves using a blank wall and a level floor. Position masking tape vertically on the wall in reference to the vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights. Position a horizontal tape line in reference to the centerline of all three points. Then, back the vehicle up approximately 25 feet from the wall. Turn on the headlights and adjust them so that the top of the light beam aligns with the horizontal tape line and the center of the beam is aligned with the vertical tape for each headlight. This ensures optimal visibility and proper alignment for safe driving.

Use snap-ring pliers to spread the clips, then detach the headlight housing.
