The minimum idle speed is pre-set at the factory and should not require adjustment under normal operating conditions. However, if the throttle body has been replaced or you suspect the minimum idle speed has been tampered with, have the vehicle checked by a dealer service department or other qualified automotive repair shop. 2005 and later models do not use Idle Control Valve. The idle is adjusted by movement of the throttle by the PCM. The Idle Control Valve (ICV) controls the engine idle speed. The ICV controls the amount of air that bypasses the throttle plate into the intake manifold. The ICV is controlled by the PCM in accordance with the demands on the engine and the operating conditions. A problem in the ICV circuit will set a diagnostic trouble code. Make sure the ignition key is in the OFF position. Disconnect the ICV connector. Remove the throttle bypass hose from the valve. Remove the mounting bolts and detach the ICV and gasket. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use a new gasket when installing the ICV. Tighten the ICV mounting bolts.
