    Q:
What are the functions and troubleshooting methods for different types of fuel tanks in the Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
Commonly used in early fuel-injected models with single tanks, high and low-pressure fuel pumps, the single-function fuel tank is an intermediary between a low-pressure pump and a high-pressure one. The fuel tank receives fuel from the low-pressure pump and transfers it to the high pressure one then to the EFI system while the extra fuel flows back to the tank via this same fuel tank. In cases where there is an inadequate supply of fuel by the low-pressure pump, the high-pressure pump will draw gasoline from this fuel tank to sustain uninterrupted flow of gasoline to the engine. For troubleshooting, check for any fuel blockage, since servicing cannot be done on this fuel tank.

    Q:
How to remove and replace fuel tanks in Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
The fuel tank inside Ford Bronco vehicles comes either in metal or plastic form with the larger tank usually placed midship or near the rear axle, while many cars carry a smaller auxiliary tank alongside the main one. A broken plastic tank won't fix, so it needs replacing. First, you lower fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery on midship tanks. First, we disconnect batteries and drain fuel, unscrew the hoses, lower the tank, detach all fuel lines, and remove connecting wires before taking the tank out from underneath the car. When reinstalling the tank, first separate the fuel level sending unit and vapor control valve. Put them back the same way you removed them, while remembering to reset the chassis' inertia switch during installation. Like in front-axle tanks, fuel is drained and hoses disconnected, after which both the tank and the vehicle are carefully lowered to remove the tank. Plastic tank removal needs you to carefully take off the skid plate and tank support before touching the vapor emissions control valve. Putting in the fuel tank goes the same way as taking it out: fuel lines have to stay straight and smooth during the process. For all Bronco models, we empty fuel, disconnect lines, lift up the tank, and put in a new vapor control valve if needed, then put everything back in reverse order while turning on the tank's inertia switch.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Fuel Tank assembly in the Ford Bronco II? Posted by Customer
    A:
Ford Bronco II drivers should start with fuel drainage into a suitable receptacle by using a siphon through the filler neck and should remove the drain plug if their model includes this feature. Securely support the vehicle rear and remove the skid plate if one is installed. The ground cable of the vehicle battery needs disconnection first to stop sparking and then separate the fuel gauge sending unit wire from the fuel tank. Start by detaching the fuel filler pipe hose by loosening its clamp and disconnecting it afterward disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel gauge sending unit through the hose clamps. To access the tank vent hose you must support the fuel tank assembly while removing the strap attaching nut at each mounting strap. After that swing the strap down and lower the tank. Cut the connections between the top tank ventilation pipe and the fuel container-to-separator plugs. Extract the under-vehicle fuel tank and lower it to a proper working position. The installation process requires placement of the tank forward edge at the frame crossmember followed by both vent hose and fuel tank-to-separator tank line connections. Apply the mounting straps to the tank then install attaching nuts with flat washers before distributing even tension across them. Install and tighten the hose clamps to the fuel gauge sending unit before installing any drain plug present. The installation process requires connecting the fuel gauge sending unit wire followed by the skid plate installation with mounting nut tightening if applicable and connecting the filler pipe-to-tank hose with its hose clamp and finally completing installation by reconnecting the vehicle battery ground cable. Check all tank connections for leaks after filling the tank before performing the vehicle drop.
