- A:To remove the switch on 2006 and earlier models, start by disconnecting the wiring from the switch and rotating it clockwise. Then, to install the switch, turn the knob counterclockwise until it stops, start the engine, depress the brake pedal, and place the switch into its bracket, turning it counterclockwise. Finally, connect the wiring to the switch. On 2007 and later models, turn the switch clockwise 11/8-turn to remove it, disconnect the wiring, and reverse the steps for installation.Posted by FordPartsGiant Specialist
