    Q:
How to remove the front coil springs on a Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it on jackstands. Remove the wheels and support the axle with a floor jack. Detach the stabilizer bar and disconnect the shock absorber(s). Remove the bolt holding the upper spring retainer and lower the axle to expose the spring. Unfasten the lower spring retaining nut and remove the spring. To install, position the spring on the lower seat and install the lower spring retainer washer and nut. Raise the spring/axle until the spring top fits the upper spring cup. Install the upper spring retainer and bolt. Reconnect the shock absorber(s) and reattach the stabilizer bar. Reinstall the brake caliper if removed, install the wheels, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Coil Springs on 2WD Ford Bronco II? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on parts for the Ford Bronco II, lift the front of the car and put jack stands under the frame, then make sure there's nothing under the axle before starting work. Put four flat washers under the nut, thread the nut like you would any other nut, take care to seat the stud all the way down, then remove lug nut and washers.Install the brake shoes. Once done, place brake drum over these shoes. Muscle the wheel back into place. Take out jack stands. Gently put car back on ground. Bolt wheel nuts, following correct torque specification. When checking your wheels, look for dents, cracks, air leaking, or extreme rust. Buy new wheels when needed, but don't use bent or straightened tires or inner tubes on ones that leak. Be sure to hold the caliper in a safe spot while taking it off to prevent breaking any parts in the caliper hose assembly. Take out the lower shock stud nut, remove the lower retainer that holds the spring seat, and let the axle come down while keeping the brake hose from stretching. Use a lever to push up and lift the spring over the bolt when your brake hose assembly has extra space. Move the spring around until the in-built retainer on top releases and take the spring off the vehicle completely. To reassemble: put the bolt through axle arm, attach nut to bolt, put on spring lower seat and lower insulator, add stabilizer bar mounting bracket and spring spacer. Place the spring top onto the upper spring seat, turn it into place, raise the bottom end over the flat bolt head, and slowly elevate the axle while guiding the spring to fit. Put on the lower retainer and nut, join the shock absorber, then let the vehicle down gently.
