    How do you disconnect the speedometer cable from the Instrument Cluster housing for the 1991 Lincoln Mark VII? Posted by Customer

    There are two methods to disconnect the speedometer cable from the cluster housing. One is to reach behind the cluster housing and press on the release lever. The other is to reach behind the cluster and press the tab to release the speedometer cable or pull the cable straight out of the housing. Ensure that the vehicle is turned off and the ignition key is removed before attempting to disconnect the cable. It is also advisable to take note of the cable's routing for easier reinstallation. If the cable is stuck, gently wiggle it while pulling to avoid damage. Once disconnected, inspect the cable for any signs of wear or damage before reinstallation.
