    Q:
How to remove and install rear Axle Shaft,Wheel Bearing and Wheel seal on Ford Bronco II? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace / remove the integral axle carrier therefore, you have to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and temporarily immerse the vehicle on raising and supporting stands. Teletransport the rear wheels and brake drums and then evacuate the rear axle lubricant. For other axle ratios except 3.73:1 & 4.10:1, unscrew the differential pinion shaft lock bolt, and remove the shaft, but retain the pinion gears. When pulling out the axle shafts the flanged end should be forced towards the center of the car and the C-lock washer should be removed, if the seals are not to be replaced then they should be treated very carefully in order to avoid any damage. For 3.73:1 and 4.10:1 ratio axles, take off the pinion shaft lock bolt and pop out the pinion shaft until it just abuts the ring gear, then, like before, take off the C-lock washer and the axle shafts as well. Remove the bearing and seal combined by employing a wheel bearing and seal removal tool equipped with a slide hammer. For installation, apply the rear axle lubricant on the bearing and then, use the suitable tool to fit it into the housing bore available in the equipment. Use Multi-Purpose Long-Life Lubricant at the lip contact area of the axle shaft seal and then fit new seal using the seal replacer. Make certain that the differential pinion shaft is properly fitted to the ring gear before using the axle shaft to slide into the housing mesh the splines with the side gear. Insert the C-lock washer and by doing that pull the shaft in the outward position to capture the washer seats. With the differential pinion shaft properly positioned through the case, align the bottom of the shaft to the lock screw hole if available and then install the lock bolt and tight it to the recommended torque. Use some solvent to clean the gasket mounting surface that is usually on the rear axle housing and cover then apply a strip of silicone sealant round the cover before fastening the nuts and bolts as required. Lastly turn the engine on and add lubricant to up to the bottom of the filler hole-¼, re-install the filler plug and tighten it as required.

    Q:
What are the final steps in the process, and why is it important to refill the axle with the correct lubricant and ensure the Wheel Seal is properly installed for the 1994 Ford Explorer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The final steps involve reinstalling the cover and bolts, applying a continuous bead of silicone sealant, and tightening the bolts in a criss-cross pattern. It is crucial to refill the axle with the correct lubricant to ensure proper functioning and longevity of the rear axle components.
