    Tie a piece of string onto the radio end of the antenna cable and the other end to the instrument panel. This will be used to pull the new antenna cable back through the same path as the old one.

    How do I replace the Antenna cable if it exceeds five ohms in resistance for the 1998 Lincoln Town Car? Posted by Customer

    To replace the antenna cable, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For a front-mounted antenna, lower it, remove the rear screws for access, and then remove the lower antenna bolt and the nut at the top of the antenna stanchion to uninstall the antenna. Reverse the process for installation. For a rear-mounted antenna, lower it, open the trunk lid, remove the trim panel, and take out the lower antenna bolt. Remove the radio antenna base cap, unscrew the mounting screws, disconnect electrical connectors, and lower the antenna assembly into the trunk for removal. Reverse the steps for installation.
