    Before assuming the starter is the problem, the following items should be checked in the starting circuit. Ensure that the battery cable clamps are clean and tightly connected to the battery. Inspect the condition of the battery cables and replace any damaged ones. Test the battery to determine if it needs to be replaced. Check the tightness of the starter mounting bolts. Verify the adjustment of the Digital Transmission Range sensor or Clutch Pedal Position switch and ensure that the shift lever is in the correct position.
