    Every 3000 miles of drive or once in 3 months the hinges and latch assembly of the doors, the hood and the trunk should be lubricated by a few drops of light oil or lock lubricant. Also the door latch strikers must be oiled smeared thinly with grease to reduce wear and make the door to open easily. Also it is advised to spray the locks of the door and the trunk with the spray-on graphite lubricant.

    Remove the door trim panel and peel the watershield back. Next, take out the remote control assembly and disconnect the rod at the control and the lock cylinder by removing the retaining screws, then pull the remote control out and disconnect it from the rod. Disconnect the push button rod and handle from the latch. Remove the screws located at the end of the door and detach the latch, which is held in place by two screws. Installation is the reverse of removal.
