    Q:
How to overhaul the manual transmission assembly on a Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
Overhauling a manual transmission is complex, involving disassembly, reassembly, and precise measurements. While this can be done by an experienced DIYer with tools like snap-ring pliers, a bearing puller, slide hammer, pin punches, a dial indicator, and possibly a hydraulic press, it's often best left to professionals. If you choose to do it, exploded-view drawings and documentation of disassembly steps are invaluable. Replace parts like gaskets, snap-rings, oil seals, and bearings during reassembly. Keep the work area clean and prelubricate parts before assembly. Test the input shaft and gears for issues before reinstalling the transmission. Lastly, fill it with the appropriate fluid.

    Q:
What Are the Different Transmission Assembly Options Available on Ford Bronco, and How Do They Differ in Terms of Torque Capacity and Speed/Load Sensing Mechanisms? Posted by Customer
    A:
Various automatic transmissions have been featured in the F-series and Bronco, including the AOC 4-speed, C4, C5, C6 3-speeds, and the E4OD and 4R7OW 4-speeds. The difference lies in torque capacity and shift point mechanisms; the C-series uses a governor and vacuum diaphragm, the AOD uses a governor and throttle valve rod or cable, while the E4OD uses sensors and computer programming. For repairs or overhauls, professional assistance is recommended, or consider replacing the unit. Use high-temperature-resistant seals on these transmissions.

    Q:
How to remove and reinstall the manual Transmission Assembly on the Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the battery negative cable. Drain the transmission lubricant into a suitable container. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the shift lever on vehicles equipped with direct-shifting transmissions. Detach the shift linkage at the transmission on vehicles equipped with a column shift. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back-up light switch. Remove the speedometer cable and gear assembly on 1991 and earlier 2WD models. Disconnect the clutch hydraulic line from the slave cylinder on vehicles with a concentric slave cylinder. Remove the external slave cylinder from the transmission housing on 5-speed models equipped with a 7.5L engine. Disconnect the driveshaft on 2WD models. Remove the transfer case shift lever assembly and transfer case on 4WD vehicles. Remove the starter motor from the transmission on 5-speed models. Support the transmission with a transmission jack. Remove the transmission rear mount. Remove the gussets if installed. Remove any harness ties on the crossmember and remove the crossmember. Remove the transmission retaining bolts from the rear of the clutch housing on 3 and 4-speed transmissions. Remove the transmission case-to-engine block retaining bolts on 5-speed models. Slowly withdraw the transmission straight back to disengage the input shaft from the clutch disc. Lower the transmission and remove it from beneath the vehicle. Check all clutch related components and replace worn parts as required. Prepare the release bearing for reinstallation. Install the clutch housing if removed. Secure the transmission to the transmission jack and raise it up. Verify that the dowel pins are installed in the engine block. Wiggle the transmission forwards, inserting the input shaft through the release bearing hub and into the clutch disc splines until the transmission mates with the clutch housing. Wiggle the transmission forwards, inserting the input shaft into the clutch disc splines until the transmission mates with the engine block. Install the retaining bolts and tighten them to the torque. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. After connecting the line to the concentric slave cylinder, bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

How does the Electronic Engine Control system determine the state in which the transmission should operate for the 1993 Ford Bronco? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Electronic Engine Control system receives operating conditions from various sensors throughout the vehicle and transmission. The computer compares these conditions with stored parameters and logically determines the state in which the transmission should operate.
