Hook up a hand-operated vacuum pump/gauge to the wheel-end of the vacuum line and apply 15 in-Hg of vacuum. The line must not leak more than 0.50 in-Hg in 30 seconds.

4. Unbolt and remove the brake disc splash shield from the steering knuckle. 5. Remove the driveaxle retainer ring. 6. Detach the clips for the hub-lock system vacuum line, disconnect the vacuum line from the steering knuckle, and set the vacuum line aside. 7. On models with ABS, disconnect the ABS electrical wire harness clips, remove the ABS sensor retaining bolt, remove the sensor from the knuckle, and set the sensor and wire harness safely aside. 8. Remove the hub assembly-to-steering knuckle bolts. 9. Tap the hub assembly from side-to-side to break it loose from the steering knuckle. Pull the hub assembly off the end of the driveaxle. Wrap the end of the driveaxle with a rag to prevent damaging it. If the hub is stuck on the splines on the end of the driveaxle, use a puller to free it.
