    Disconnect the old cables from the negative (first) and positive (last) battery terminals, then disconnect them from the opposite end. Disconnect the ground cables from the firewall, the right upper control arm mounting bracket, and the starter motor. Then disconnect the positive cable from the alternator and from the starter solenoid.
