How do you remove and install the battery and Battery Tray? Posted by Customer
A:
To disconnect the battery, start by removing the cable from the negative terminal, followed by the cable from the positive terminal. Then, remove the battery hold-down clamp and carefully lift out the heavy battery. If you need to replace the battery, make sure to get one that matches the dimensions and ratings of the old battery. Additionally, if the old battery had a heat shield, transfer it to the new battery. On 2015 and later models, you may need to remove the air filter housing to access the battery tray. Remove the fasteners and take out the battery tray if necessary. To reinstall, simply reverse the removal process, connecting the positive cable first and the negative cable last.
