To remove the trailing arm, you should start by removing the coil spring, brake shoe assembly, brake hose and brake line brackets, parking brake cable brackets, and ABS wheel speed sensor if equipped. Then, remove the hub and bearing assembly. Separate the brake backing plate from the trailing arm and suspend it with a piece of wire. Finally, mark the relationship of the toe adjusting cam to the trailing arm mounting bracket, unscrew the pivot bolt, and separate the trailing arm from the vehicle.

During installation, align the matchmarks on the toe adjusting cam and the mounting bracket. Before fully tightening the trailing arm pivot bolt, raise the rear end of the trailing arm with a floor jack to simulate normal ride height. Tighten all fasteners to the proper torque specifications.
