How to remove and install the A/C Switch control assemblies in a Mercury Mountaineer?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For the front A/C switch, remove the dashboard center bezel. Disconnect the temperature blend door vacuum harness, the blower motor switch, and temperature control switch connectors. Remove the A/C switch retaining screws. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the rear A/C switch, lower the overhead console to access the retaining screw. Remove the console screw. Disengage the retaining clips from the rear edges of the console. Lower the overhead console slightly to access the electrical connectors. Disconnect the connectors. Remove the console and remove the rear A/C switch screws. Separate the assembly from the console. Installation is the reverse of removal. Disengage the retaining clips and lower the console slightly to access the electrical connectors. Disconnect the electrical connectors and separate the assembly from the console.
