How to remove and install the instrument cluster on Mercury Grand Marquis?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the instrument cluster bezel. Next, take out the instrument cluster retaining screws, which secure the cluster at both sides of the housing. Pull the cluster out and unplug the electrical connectors, ensuring to disconnect the speedometer cable or unplug the electronic speed sensor. Detach the shift indicator assembly from the cluster and remove the cluster from the instrument panel. Installation is the reverse of the removal process.
