The fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor monitors tank pressure for emissions testing. It helps detect abnormal fuel vapor levels not being purged into the recycling system, aiding the PCM in monitoring this differential. Faults in this circuit will trigger a diagnostic code. The FTP sensor is integrated with the vapor tube and serviced as a unit. To replace, elevate the vehicle, disconnect the vapor tube, and remove the sensor. Reinstall in reverse order.

How to relieve fuel system pressure and remove the FRP sensor in Lincoln MKX?

To relieve the fuel system pressure, remove the charge air cooler inlet and middle tubes, followed by the drive belt and power steering pump for 2014 and earlier 2.0L models. For 2015 and later 2.0L models, remove the engine cover and alternator. In the case of 2.7L V6 models, remove the left-hand fuel rail.
