To replace the trunk lid latch, firstly open the trunk and then gently apply a force to the latch trim cover in order to remove the mounting clips. It is recommended that a line be drawn around the trunk lid latch assembly for alignment during a repair. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the trunk lock actuator from the lock cylinder then un-bolt the retaining nuts and pull the latch off. For models up to 2010, go to the trunk to complete the following; pull the latch trim cover off in the following manner; Detach any electrical connectors and trunk lock actuator to the lock cylinder: you must detach the actuator before the removal of the mounting fasteners. After that, the lock cylinder mounting fasteners should be withdrawn and the lock cylinder should be taken out from the vehicle. Installation process is, however, the reverse of the removal process. Please remember that for the 2011+ cars, the trunk lock cylinder has been replaced by the trunk lid release switch which should be ordered with the latch assembly only.
