To remove the clip, disconnect the hydraulic line at the transmission while having a small can and rags handy, as some fluid will spill during the removal. Plug the line to prevent excessive fluid loss and contamination. Next, remove the transmission, followed by the clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts, and then take out the clutch slave cylinder from the front of the transmission. For installation, lightly lubricate the transmission input shaft housing with multi-purpose grease, then install the clutch slave cylinder onto the input shaft housing of the transmission and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. After that, install the transmission, connect the hydraulic line fitting to the transmission, and install the clip. Finally, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir, adding brake fluid that conforms to DOT 3 specifications until the level is correct, then bleed the system and recheck the brake fluid level.
