  Q: How to remove and reinstall a radiator and expansion tank?

  A: Before starting the work, refer to the warnings given. For the removal of the radiator, first, remove the radiator fan and shroud assembly as described in Section 5. On 2005 and later models, remove the pushpins securing the lower part of the radiator. Ensure the parking brake is applied, raise and support the front of the car on axle stands, and remove the radiator lower cover. Drain the cooling system and disconnect all hoses from the radiator. If the vehicle has an automatic transaxle, separate the transmission fluid cooler from the mounting brackets. For vehicles with air conditioning, support the condenser to keep it in place. Remove the two bolts on each side of the radiator's mounting bracket, retrieve and store the bottom mounting rubbers, and unclip the radiator from the air conditioning condenser if applicable. Withdraw the radiator from the vehicle, leaving the air conditioning condenser in place. With the radiator removed, inspect it for leaks and damage. Have a radiator specialist or dealer service department perform any necessary repairs. Clean insects and dirt from the radiator with a garden hose or soft brush, being careful not to damage the cooling fins. For installation, ensure the mounting rubbers are properly seated, refill the cooling system with the recommended coolant, and check for leaks after starting the engine and allowing it to reach normal operating temperature. To remove the coolant reservoir, ensure the engine is cool, remove the filler cap to release pressure, and then disconnect the hoses from the reservoir, draining its contents into a clean container. Unscrew the reservoir's mounting bolt and lift it out from the inner strut panel. Wash out the reservoir and inspect it for cracks and chafing, replacing it if damaged. To reinstall, refill the cooling system with the recommended coolant, start the engine, and check for leaks after reaching normal operating temperature. Recheck the coolant level and add more if needed.
