For 2007 and earlier models with a manual transaxle, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable. Lift out the cup holders from the front of the console and remove the two retaining screws, then on some models, pull the cup holder out from the rear and undo the securing screws. Unclip the ashtray from the rear of the center console and lift the cover to access the securing screw underneath. Unclip the shift lever trim panel from the center console and unclip the boot from the trim panel while leaving the boot on the shift lever. Remove the electrical connectors from any switches and unclip the parking brake boot from the center console, removing it from the parking brake lever. Fully apply the parking brake lever to withdraw the center console from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For automatic transaxle models, follow the same procedure as for manual models, but also remove the screw on the side of the selector lever that secures the lever knob, carefully pry out the selector lever trim panel, and detach the wiring plugs inside the center console, cutting any cable-ties as necessary. For 2008 and later models, pull the parking brake lever up as far as possible and put the shifter into Neutral, unscrewing the shift knob on manual transaxle models. Open the console lid and detach the parking brake lever rubber boot from the lever. Carefully pry up the rear of the console trim panel to release all clips, then remove the trim panel and rubber boot. Slide the seats forward to remove the side screws from the lower rear of the console, then slide the seats back to remove the plastic covers and side screws from the lower center of the console. Use a small screwdriver to remove the three push-pin retainers from the sides of the front of the console, then remove the two top screws from the front. Carefully lift out the console, disconnecting the wiring as you do so.
