For V6 models and 4.6L and 5.0L V8 models, begin by removing the air intake duct, then disconnect the electronic throttle control electrical connector from the throttle body. Next, take out the four throttle body mounting bolts and remove the throttle body. After that, remove the old throttle body gasket, inspecting its condition; if damaged, replace it, otherwise, it can be reused. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring a new gasket is used if necessary, and tighten the throttle body mounting bolts to the specified torque. For 5.4L and 6.2L V8 models, also remove the air intake duct and, for 5.4L models, the air filter housing. On 2009 and later models, take off the clamp and mounting bolt to remove the intake resonator, followed by the four adapter mounting bolts to detach the air intake duct-to-throttle body adapter. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the throttle body, which include the electronic throttle control connector and the Throttle Position (TP) sensor connector; slide out the lock toward the harness, then depress the release tab to pull off the connector. Remove the throttle body mounting bolts and take out the throttle body. Discard the old throttle body O-ring seal and always use a new one during installation, tightening the throttle body mounting bolts to the specified torque.
