Regarding the mast of the antenna, an open- end wrench must be applied to loosen the mast from the base, the process of installation will be the same as the process of removal. First and foremost, unbolt the antenna mast followed by the removal of the antenna mounting base cap by using a trim panel removal tool while endeavoring to cover the painted surface of the component with tape. Then, unscrew the three screws which fix the antenna mounting base to the fender so that the mounting base could be removed. Take out the glove box, disconnect the outer antenna cable from the inner antenna and just unscrew the lug nuts of the front right wheel, lift the car and take out the right front wheel. Remove the inner fender splash shield on the right side front of the car; follow the outer cable to the rubber grommet and take note of the routing in order to re-route the new cable correctly. Inside the wheel well, remove the grommet from the mounting hole and then feed the outer part of the antenna cable through the hole in grommet in to wheel well. The outer antenna cable and the antenna mounting base can be detached by pulling the straight upwards through the base mounting hole with the removal being the reverse of installation. For the inner cable that has to be disconnected to allow for the connection with the radio, first, remove the glove box, then disconnects the inner cable from the outer one and then pry off the two clips on the inside of the trim piece below the glove box. Last, take out the radio and cut off the inner part of the antenna wire at its rear end; as installation is just a reversed process of the above.
