How to remove and install the Wiper Switch on Ford Explorer?

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and the positive cable if equipped with airbags. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Pry the switch assembly out of the instrument panel and disconnect the electrical connectors to remove the switch. To remove an individual switch, squeeze the retainer tabs and press the switch out of the bracket; for replacement, follow the same procedure. On 1995 and later models, the rear window wiper/washer switch is located on the center dash finish panel. Installation is the reverse of the removal process.
