First of all, there are other options when handling CV joint problems rather than overhauling it. For the inner CV Joint, remove the drive axle and secure it in a vise. Remove the boot clamps and slide back the boot. Get rid of the wire ring ball retainer before taking off the outer race. Clean the inner bearing, remove the snap ring, and mark the inner race and cage. Pry balls from the cage, and inspect them for wear. To reassemble; align match marks, press balls into the cage, and apply grease. Wrap tape around
Axle Shaft, slide on CV Boot and clamp it, then remove tape, install inner race and cage. Put a snap ring then fill the outer race with grease, reassemble with a wire ring retainer. Secure the boot using clamps then reinstall the drive axle.
