How to remove the A/C Switch control assembly from the instrument panel on Ford Expedition?

Before removing the radio and controls, pull out the A/C Switch from your instrument panel by first taking out the screws that keep it in place and removing the trim. When the automatic temperature control system comes as an option, its control unit will include a separate microprocessor. Some cars include extra controls either in the dashboard or steering wheel. The EATC system can check its own problems. To work on the control assembly, remove it from the instrument panel first. Then disconnect each electrical connector and vacuum line gently by lifting up the plastic clips and detaching them with care. Avoid breaking the plastic connectors to prevent vacuum leaks. Tear off three plastic grips in the back of the control panel to take out the speed switch, function selector, and blend-control switch. As you pull them forward, their front knobs stay attached.
