How to replace the Transmission Filter and fluid on the Ford Excursion?

Perform transmission fluid replacement after engine has cooled. Get recommended fluid, new drain plug, new filter, and new gasket if needed. Use jackstands, drain pan, newspapers, and rags. Elevate vehicle, place drain pan, remove drain plug or pan bolts, drain fluid. Clean gasket surface, clean pan, replace filter. Install new seal, filter, and gasket. Attach pan, tighten bolts.
