How to remove and install a steering wheel in Ford Escape?

For 2007 and prior models, remove the negative terminal of the battery and wait at least two minutes. Turn the steering wheel directly forward; open the cover below steering wheel; disconnect electrical connector from airbag module. Unscrew rack shaft, take out a steering wheel and unplug horn connector. For clock spring installation make sure it's centered and reassemble components tightening rack shaft also reconnect electrical connectors. For 2008 and subsequent year models, remove the negative battery terminal, disengage wire clip holding airbag module in place, disconnect electrical connectors from under dash panel on driver side of vehicle Disconnect clock spring wiring loom, remove bolt securing Steering Wheel Use Steering Wheel Puller to Remove Steering Wheel.
