Check for any relative movement between the mount plates and the engine or frame using a large screwdriver or prybar; if movement is detected, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners. Applying rubber preservative can help slow deterioration. For replacement, disconnect the negative battery cable, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands if not already done. Remove the nut to disconnect the mount from the frame and disconnect the automatic transmission shift linkage. Raise the engine slightly with a jack or hoist, ensuring the fan does not hit the radiator or shroud, then remove the mount-to-block bolts and detach the mount.
