How to remove and install the High pressure fuel pump in four cylinder engine on 2014 Ford Taurus?

To remove the fuel pump, first relieve the fuel system pressure, then disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the air filter housing intake duct and disconnect the fuel injection pump electrical connector. Carefully remove the pump insulator from around the outside of the pump, taking care to spread the openings of the fuel injection pump noise insulator to minimize damage. Disconnect the quick disconnect line and remove the fuel line from the fuel pump, then loosen and remove the fuel lines using a flare nut wrench. Slide the heater hose clip forward and up to expose the fuel pump shield bolts, then remove the shield bolts and shield. Loosen the fuel pump mounting bolts evenly, one complete turn at a time, until the bolts and pump can be removed, ensuring to replace the bolts afterward. Discard the fuel pump O-ring. For installation, check the pump tappet in the pump body for wear or damage before installing a new O-ring on the pump and applying clean oil to both the pump tappet and the O-ring. Rotate the engine until the cam lobe for the fuel injection pump is at its lowest point, then set the pump in the housing and install the new bolts hand tight. Tighten the bolts in even stages, alternating between them, to the specified torque. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal.
