How to remove and install the intake manifold in 4.0L pushrod V6 engine on 2004 Ford Ranger?

When performing this procedure you have to turn off the fuel pump and ignition and disconnect the car battery's negative terminal. Next step is to pull out the ignition coil and the coil mounting bracket and finally the upper intake manifold. Remove the valve covers and the camshaft position sensor, should it be needed. Loosen the electrical connectors of the various sensors and the fuel injectors and the fuel line that connects to the fuel rail. Pull the heater hose off the front of the intake manifold and either pull the thermostat and housing or take off the upper end of the radiator hose. The intake manifold nuts and bolts: loosen, take off; if it's seized on the head: tap lightly with a soft-face hammer or pry off very gently. Installation requirement is quite simple that it requires all previous gasket to be removed manually and wipe of the oil and dirt with the cloth and solvent. Spread RTV sealant on notch of coolant port and on front face of sealing surface and put on manifold gasket as soon as it is possible. Putting the manifold between the studs, screw in the nuts and bolts; and thereafter, tighten them unaided by any tool before following a certain pattern of tightening. Proceed and perform the removal process in the reverse way and, at last, start the engine and look for any leakage.
