Remove the wheel lug nuts, lift the vehicle's rear, support it on jack stands, and remove the wheel and brake drum. Remove the differential carrier cover and drain the lubricant. Remove the lock bolt from the differential pinion shaft and slide the pinion shaft out. Utilize a screwdriver to stop the differential case from turning. Rotate the case 180 degrees and slide the pinion shaft out until it contacts the ring gear. Remove the C-lock from the axle shaft and withdraw the axle shaft, avoiding damage to the oil seal. Don't rotate the differential while the pinion shaft is out. Reverse these steps for installation.

Begin by loosening the wheel lug nuts, then raise the rear of the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Remove the wheel and, if applicable, the brake drum or the caliper and disc.

Remove the brake drums or calipers and discs, followed by the rear axle cover to drain the lubricant. If the vehicle has ABS, remove the sensors from the torque plates.
