The battery should be checked and charged if necessary.

Be careful not to damage the gasket, and pull the blower motor out of the heater assembly. If necessary, remove the push nut on the motor shaft and remove the blower wheel from the motor. Replace the gasket between the blower motor and heater assembly if its condition is in doubt. This gasket must be good to prevent moisture from entering the assembly.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, move the cruise control servo aside on 2001 and later models, disconnect the blower motor connector, remove the vent tube, and then uninstall the blower motor by removing mounting screws, the motor wheel hub pushnut, and carefully extracting the motor from its housing. Before installing the new blower motor, ensure that the mounting surface is clean and free of debris. Reconnect the vent tube and blower motor connector, then secure the motor in place with the mounting screws. Finally, reattach the cruise control servo if applicable, and reconnect the negative battery cable to complete the installation. Test the blower motor to ensure it operates correctly before finalizing the assembly.
