    Q:
How is the electric cooling fan removed, and what components should be disconnected before lifting the assembly out of the engine compartment for the 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis? Posted by Customer
    A:
For the electric cooling fan, drain the cooling system and remove the coolant expansion tank, power steering fluid reservoir, and other components as needed. Disconnect the electrical connector and transmission cooler lines, remove the fan shroud mounting bolts, and carefully lift the fan assembly out of the engine compartment. Ensure that any additional wiring harnesses or hoses that may obstruct the removal are also disconnected to prevent damage. Once the assembly is free, inspect the mounting points and surrounding components for any signs of wear or damage before installation of the new fan.
