Raise the lower control arm to simulate normal ride height. Tighten the pivot bolt nuts. Install the wheel. Remove the jackstands. Lower the vehicle. Tighten the wheel lug nuts to the recommended torque.

To detach the upper end of the shock absorber from 1992 and later models, you need to remove the nut, large washer, and bushing under the nut.

Start by loosening the wheel lug nuts. Raise the vehicle and securely support it with jackstands. Remove the wheel.

Secure the lower control arm with mounting bolts (not fully tightened initially). Use a spring compressor for 2002 and earlier models and properly seat the spring. Insert the balljoint stud into the steering knuckle. Tighten the castle nut and install a new cotter pin. On 2003 and later models, install the shock absorber/coil spring assembly. For 1988 through 1991 models, attach the stabilizer bar.
