    For four-cylinder models, detach the battery cable, raise the vehicle, and remove the underbody cover. Disconnect the starter motor solenoid wire nut, battery cable nut, and wires from the starter. Remove the ground wire and mounting stud bolts to remove the starter. Reverse the process for installation. For V6 models, additional steps include removing the air filter housing and outlet pipe for 2.7L engines. On 3.5L and 3.7L engines, disconnect the transaxle shift cable and remove the shift lever nut and lever. Remove the starter motor solenoid wire nut, battery cable nut, and wires from the starter motor. Remove the starter motor mounting fasteners to remove the starter. Reverse the process for installation.

    Remove the under vehicle splash shield. Lift the engine cover off the ballstuds and remove it. Remove the battery and battery tray. Remove the shift cable and bracket. Place a drain pan under the engine oil filter and remove the filter. Remove the oil cooler mounting bolt and lower the cooler. Remove the battery cable ground wire nut and cable from the starter mounting stud bolt. Finally, pull back the protective cover from the starter's terminals, remove the nuts, and disconnect the battery cable and the electrical connector from the starter.
