    Q:
Under what conditions does the manufacturer recommend resurfacing Brake Discs, and what's the alternative if resurfacing is not chosen for the 2008 Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
The manufacturer recommends resurfacing the brake discs only in the event of pedal pulsations or hard (overheated) spots on the disc. If you choose not to have the discs resurfaced, you should deglaze them with sandpaper or emery cloth. However, ensure that the disc thickness doesn't go below the specified minimum thickness, which is cast into the disc. You can check the disc thickness with a micrometer.
