After disconnecting the electrical connector, the three blower motor cover screws should be removed and the blower motor cover should be separated from the blower motor.

The blower motor resistor assembly is located on the blower motor housing under the right side of the dash. It has three resistor elements to provide low and medium blower speeds and a thermal limiter resistor to prevent heat damage.

In Expedition and Navigator models with a console blower motor, the sheetmetal braces from under the console, the large blower duct, and the upper and lower duct covers from the blower motor assembly should be removed. Then, the electrical connector should be disconnected from the blower motor. After that, the blower motor mounting screws can be removed, allowing the motor to be carefully pulled out from the assembly. Ensure that any debris or obstructions are cleared from the area before installation of the new blower motor. Reassemble the components in reverse order, making sure all connections are secure and the ductwork is properly aligned to prevent air leaks.
