    Disconnect the electrical connection.Use the special service tool 501-190, which is required to release the mounting clip.Place the jaw of the tool into the bottom portion of the mirror base as far in as possible.Clamp the tool onto the mirror base (this will release the mounting clip).Tap the base of the tool upwards. The rear view mirror should slide upwards about 3 mm.Remove the tool, then slide the mirror off of the base.
