    What steps should be taken before disconnecting the brake pedal, Brake Booster, or booster pushrod for the 2008 Ford Taurus? Posted by Oana B.

    Before disconnecting, remove the brake light switch and speed control deactivator switch (if equipped). In the driver's footwell, unlock the pin cover on the brake pedal arm and remove the retaining pin. Remove the washer and the brake booster pushrod. On 2010 and later models, use a 12-point, 11 mm wrench or socket to release the tabs on the one-piece clevis locking pin that connects the pushrod to the brake pedal.
