Before beginning the procedure to remove the fuel tank, make sure the gauge indicates that the tank is empty or nearly empty. Lower the tank far enough to unplug any vapor lines or wire harness brackets that may be difficult to reach when the fuel tank is in the vehicle. Slowly lower the jack while steadying the tank. Remove the tank from the vehicle. If you're replacing the tank, ensure that the new tank is compatible with your vehicle model. Before installation, inspect the fuel lines and connections for any signs of wear or damage. Reinstall the tank by reversing the removal process, making sure to securely fasten all brackets and reconnect any vapor lines or wire harnesses. Finally, fill the tank with fuel and check for leaks before taking the vehicle back on the road.
