    To remove the coil spring from the strut assembly, a spring compressor should be installed on the spring, compressing it enough to relieve pressure from the upper bearing assembly. Have an assistant grasp the lower edge of the tire and move the wheel in and out while you observe the steering knuckle-to-control arm ball joint for any movement.
