To remove the coil spring from the strut assembly, a spring compressor should be installed on the spring, compressing it enough to relieve pressure from the upper bearing assembly. The compressed spring should then be carefully lifted from the assembly and set aside.

Start by loosening the front wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands.

Removing and installing shock absorbers one side at a time helps maintain stability and balance in the vehicle's suspension system, preventing uneven weight distribution and potential handling issues.

To check the shock absorbers, park the vehicle on level ground, turn off the engine, and set the parking brake. Push down at one corner of the vehicle and release it while observing the movement of the body. It should stop moving and come to rest in a level position within one or two bounces. If the vehicle continues to move up and down or fails to return to its original position, this may indicate worn or weak shock absorbers.
