    How to remove and install a front Shock Absorber on Ford Ranger? Posted by Yoel B.

    Loosen the front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the front wheels. If necessary, remove the front disc brake water shield. Next, take off the upper shock absorber mounting nut, and if it is rusted tight, hold the stem from turning with a pair of locking pliers, then remove the washer and bushing. Detach the lower end of the shock absorber by removing the two lower mounting nuts and then take out the shock. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring to tighten the upper and lower shock mounting nuts to the specified torque.
